What is TMS therapy?
Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate specific areas of the brain associated with mood regulation. A considerable body of evidence supports its use as a treatment for major depressive disorder.
Non-medication treatment
TMS does not involve medication, offering an alternative for those who haven't found relief through antidepressants.
No anaesthesia, no downtime
You remain awake and alert throughout each session and can return to daily activities immediately afterwards.
Targeted brain stimulation
Magnetic pulses are directed to the brain regions involved in mood regulation.
Delivered locally. TMS therapy is delivered in our comfortable Margate and Caboolture clinics, no hospital stay required.

When TMS may be considered
TMS may be considered if you meet any of the following. All treatment decisions are made on an individual basis and guided by clinical judgement.

Have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, PTSD, or another psychiatric condition.

Tried other treatments without relief
Have tried medications and psychological therapy without sufficient relief (treatment-resistant depression).

Can't take, or prefer not to take, medication
Can't take medications due to side effects, or prefer not to take medication.
Not sure if TMS is right for you? We'll help you understand your options during an initial consultation.
